New full-time students on campus need to:

  1. Register online
  2. Complete in-person registration at the start of your course

If you have previously studied here but are starting a new course, you must still complete in-person registration.

You do not need to complete in-person registration if you are one of the following, either: returning student, part-time student or distance-learner.

Once you have completed your online and in-person registration you should receive an email to your university account to confirm your registration is completed within 24 hours (excluding weekends).

Check our registration deadlines to confirm when you need to have completed all parts of registration Please check our late arrivals webpage for more detail and advice on arriving after the start date of your course.

How to complete your in-person registration

How you complete in-person registration depends on your nationality (not your fee status).

If you are not a British or Irish passport holder and have not already provided documentation regatding EUSS (where relevant), you will be required to provide further documents at registration in order to complete a right to study check.

This means that students who have been granted home fee status may still be asked to show relevant immigration documentation.

Incorrect nationality on your student record

If your nationality is listed incorrectly on your student record - for example, you hold a British passport but did not provide it during your application, you'll need to attend in-person registration (see details below for non-British/non-Irish).

Please follow the steps below which are relevant to you to complete your in-person registration

If you are a British or Irish student

  • When you arrive on campus you need to log in to our campus Wi-Fi (eduroam) using your university email and password, e.g. username@nottingham.ac.uk format for undergraduate and postgraduate taught students or firstname.lastname@nottingham.ac.uk format for postgraduate research students. This will complete your in-person registration.
  • Refer to our registration deadlines to see when you must complete registration by.
  • British/Irish students are not required to book an appointment to complete in-person registration.
  • Once you have completed your online and in-person registration you should receive an email to your university account to confirm your registration is complete within 24 hours (excluding weekends).
