Responsibilities

Kylie joined the University of Nottingham as Interim Chief Strategy Officer in May 2025. She leads the development and implementation of the University’s institutional strategy, with a focus on embedding strategic alignment, performance delivery, financial sustainability, and enterprise portfolio governance across campuses. 

Kylie is responsible for working with senior leaders to enhance the strategic impact of their areas and ensuring that tactical and operational decisions align with the University’s overarching goals. She provides regular updates to the University Executive Board and Council on progress towards strategic objectives. She leads the development of plans that are financially resilient and responsive to both national and global developments in higher education. She leads teams including Strategy and Insights, PMO, Global Partnerships, Student Recruitment and Marketing, Communications and Development and Alumni Relations. 

Profile

Before joining the UK campus, Kylie was Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, where she developed and implemented the University’s strategic plan and financial framework, led institution-wide performance and risk reporting to Council, and chaired governance boards overseeing investment and transformation. She also spearheaded digital transformation of student marketing and recruitment and led the professional services operational functions of the University. 

Kylie has over 20 years’ experience in senior strategy roles across Australia and Southeast Asia. She was previously Director of Strategic Planning at the University of Sydney, and earlier in her career held leadership roles at Macquarie University, including as Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor. She also co-founded a higher education consultancy advising more than 20 universities across Australia, the US and Canada on institutional strategies focused on growth aligned to purpose. 

She holds a Master of Business Analytics from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Sydney. She has completed the Management Programme at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is a certified  in Project Management and Lean Six Sigma, and currently serves on advisory boards in the UK and Asia.
